Featuring The Midnight Dip, & Lumbercat

A super fun night of local/semi-local funky fun rock ‘n roll with SUGARBEAST returning to shred again. Plus , some booty shakin’ fun with THE MIDNIGHT DIP, and an early set of funk rock from LUMBERCAT from Reno!

Based out of Sacramento, Sugarbeast has quickly emerged as an indie band that transcends multiple rock genres and influences. Sugarbeast focuses on positive vibes and metaphysical lyrics, inspired by family, life and purpose.

The Midnight Dip, a 5-piece Davis, CA-based band, is not describable by a genre, but by their powerful but vulnerable messages, both empowering and intriguing. Though most of the members have a jazz background, the band’s music is unpredictable, with an eclectic blend of swing, funk and polka. The Midnight Dip is headed by the sultry and sassy Liz Kat, who’s voice is mesmerizing and soulful with an undeniable depth of feeling. This unique group is everything sweet and salty, and can perform to a wide variety of audiences, from funky dance tunes in a club to soulful jazz in a seated environment.

On September 21st, The Midnight Dip debuted their first EP, i hear voices: a woman’s tales of love, loss, pain, and redemption. The EP contains five unique songs, ranging from jazz to polka to funk, each with powerful and emotional messages to inspire hurt people to persevere. Submerge Magazine’s October 2018 issue referred to the EP as a “kaleidoscope of sound” and “full of relatable gems.”

Lumbercat is a five-piece troupe of sonic bards hailing from the Sierra Nevada mountains of Northern California.

Blending groovy 70’s inspired rock ‘n’ roll with indie soul and a touch of funk, Lumbercat is fantastically expansive and viscerally enjoyable.

Their buttercream vocals, soul-nourishing organ, spine-tingling brass, and get-your-booty-moving percussion form a richness of sound that awakens the spirit to a Lumbercat energy that’s as fresh, impressive and old school as the happy rivers and big timber from which they come.
