Called “Consummate musicians and entertainers” by New York City’s Lincoln Center, and “Instant Crowd Favorites” by the San Francisco Blues Festival, Steve Lucky and Miss Carmen Getit really shine before a live audience, bringing an intense energy and sheer personal magnetism to the stage, exercising wit in a continuous battle of the sexes. They’ve earned their reputation as captivating entertainers with “superior musicianship”, engaging audiences at the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland, the Half Note Jazz Club in Athens Greece, the San Francisco Blues Festival and many venues around the world.
The fireworks started when Steve Lucky added Miss Carmen Getit to his San Francisco band, the Rhumba Bums. Lucky was used to stealing the spotlight with his natural showmanship, and was in demand for his soulful and exciting piano style. Lucky saw the potential of Carmen as a powerhouse woman vocalist, and how she draws in an audience, intrigued with her fiery guitar solos. The musical chemistry between Lucky & Getit is evident, and the two never miss an opportunity to take advantage of the sexual tension when they ‘spar’ on-stage.
