Sac Con – Comic, Toy & Anime Convention
Posted to March 27th, 2013
October
(SAC-CON) was born on July 1, 1986 at the Sierra Inn (now the Ramada Inn) on Auburn Blvd.
The show had no guests, a little over a dozen vendors tables and less than 200 attendees.
Since then we usually host some pretty cool guests.
What began as a typical comic book convention has evolved into a mixture of comics, toys, anime, sci-fi/horror and all things dealing with pop culture entertainment.
Our philosophy is and always will be to provide fun, safe, family oriented entertainment for a reasonable price. Where else can you go to get an entire day’s worth of entertainment for only $6.00?
The main reason we’ve managed to survive while many other shows haven’t, is because we’ve never been afraid to try new things. So if you ever have any thoughts or suggestion on how to improve the show, don’t be afraid to drop us a line. But be prepared. If we like your idea, we might just put you in charge of it.

Chalk It Up!
Posted to March 27th, 2013
Always Labor Day Weekend!
A Sacramento tradition every Labor Day Weekend since 1991, Chalk It Up! is when we turn Fremont Park in downtown Sacramento into an explosion of chalk art masterpieces, live music, public art, and community engagement.
Admission is free!
Over 60,000 people will come from all over the Sacramento region to view the main attraction: hundreds of sidewalk chalk paintings that are created over the course of the weekend. Supported by our generous Square Sponsors, and brought to life by our talented Volunteer Artists, these squares turn from gray concrete paths to beautiful expressions of artistic vision.

Chalk It Up is a 501(c)3 non-profit established in 1991 that promotes and supports Youth Arts by offering small grants to K-12 classrooms, and youth arts projects throughout the Sacramento region.
