Description
City of Trees Parade 2023 – Mardi Gras Festival
starts on Capitol Mall and ends in Old Sacramento
2pm – 8pm
After the success of last year’s event, we are excited to announce that the second annual City of Trees Parade will take place on Saturday, February 18, 2023! It will be a dazzling showcase of Sacramento’s rich diversity and culture through the format of Mardi Gras.
The Curiosity Collaborative’s parade will grace the streets, from the Capitol Mall through Old Sacramento, with vibrant art from our local community. Our all-afternoon festival will have food trucks and local vendors along the parade route, and a beverage garden serving donated alcoholic beverages as a fundraiser.
Plus, Louisiana Sue Ramon will host her annual Mardi Gras Meets Carnival event at the Freeway Gardens of Old Sac, which is adjacent to our parade route, offering traditional Louisiana food, drinks, and more live music! Her Krewe of Gumbo will march in the City of Trees Parade
Our local partners helping us pull off the massive parade this year include Louisiana Sue Presents/Fleur De Lis Charities and Sacramento Valley Spark. Our Krewe (the paraders) will include *1000* people, featuring Sacramento’s culturally diverse performance and art communities. Together we will illuminate Sacramento with floats, art cars, marching bands, poi spinners, brass bands, dancers, beads, and so much more!
So grab all your purple, green, and gold (the traditional Mardi Gras colors!), and come join us for all the Sacramento Mardi Gras festivities!
Wanna be in the parade? Interested in volunteering? DM us @kreweoftrees to find out how!
We can’t wait to see you, Sacramento!
