Description
Jan 2021: Clay Labs @ Verge is still shut down. Check back here on on Verge’s website for updates.
——
Clay Labs are open to the public every Saturday morning, 10am-1pm and Tuesday evening, 4:30pm-7:30pm. We do not take reservations because we so rarely run out of space! All ages and skill levels are welcome (kids under the age of fourteen are required to be accompanied by an adult at all times). We are now operating outside with plenty of shade structures and misters to keep you cool.
During Clay Labs, all supplies are provided. You may use up to 10 lbs of clay per class. We currently offer a cone 5 buff and also a rotating darker bodied clay. You are welcome to use our wide selection of clay tools, glazes, our slab roller and electric wheels. We can fire items up to 12 inches in any direction per lab session. Please check with the lab tech for acceptions. Our lab tech can provide brief demos for people who are new to clay but this time is not structured as a class. Verge Center for the Arts often offers ceramic classes, check our website for more information.

In order to comply with current state mandates to keep everyone safe and healthy, we are currently hosting clay lab outside in our courtyard. We will provide all the usual supplies, and also canopies and misters to keep us nice and cool. We recommend bringing a bottle of water and wearing sunscreen.
