Xochitl, also known as Coyote Creates, is a local artist from Sacramento, California. She was exposed to a love for music at a young age because her parents were musicians. At age 19, she performed at local open mics as a way of gaining more experience. Her music is known to be a mix of jazz, rock, pop, electronic, and country. In her music, she represents her love for art, music, activism, the environment, and society’s youth. She received public recognition from famous Youtuber, Jenna Marbles on “The Chico Song” and was a featured performer at the Women’s March in Sacramento in 2018.
“(I want my music) to connect,” says Xochitl. “Music says things that words can’t. I’ve always felt more powerful emotional and connections through music.”
The event is free for students and the general public.
