    Maximum Occupancy
    Upstairs at the B
B Street Theatre at The Sofia

Company Members Dave Pierini, Tara Sissom, Stephanie Altholz and Jason Kuykendall perform classic long-form improvisation for a late-night audience. Coming out of Chicago’s comedy scene, the Harold has been used by famous improv groups like Second City which developed comedic talent such as Stephen Colbert, Steve Carell and Tina Fey. Based off an audience suggestion, performers will create a one-night-only improvised play, so every performance will be unique! As an exciting caveat, if we do achieve “maximum occupancy” (aka a sell-out show), we buy everyone pizza!

    King James
    by Rajiv Joseph
    Directed by Michael Stevenson

    June 25 – July 27, 2025
    Sacramento Premiere

“King” LeBron James’s years playing in Cleveland bring promise, prosperity, and renewal to a city in desperate need of all three. His tenure also unites Shawn and Matt in an unlikely bond forged by fandom. Over twelve years, from LeBron’s rookie season to an NBA Championship, the men navigate their turbulent friendship through their shared love of basketball—and the endless amiable arguments that erupt from that love. A clever comedy, KING JAMES is an intimate exploration of the place that sports occupy in our lives and relationships.

“Joseph has created one of the funniest and most moving plays about friendship in years… Basketball fans will love Joseph’s insidery jokes, but even if you don’t follow the game all that much, KING JAMES is a must-see.” –THEATERMANIA

    Upstairs at The B Presents
    Seekers of The Strange

SEEKERS OF THE STRANGE is back, and things are about to get weird—like, “Did I just see a ghost… or was that my reflection?” weird. This paranormal investigation team, led by B Street’s own John Lamb and a rotating cast of familiar faces, dives headfirst into the unknown once a month. Think of it as a live-action Dungeons & Dragons game, but with even more supernatural shenanigans and plot twists. Part game, part improvised storytelling, and 100% strange, SEEKERS OF THE STRANGE lets YOU decide how involved you want to be. Feel like sitting back and watching the madness unfold? Cool. Want to create your own character and join the team to help unravel a supernatural mystery? Even better! This show is perfect for fans of HarmonQuest, classic RPGs, or anyone who likes their theatre with a side of spooky fun. So whether you’re here for the laughs, the thrills, or just to see if you can survive the night, grab your tickets and join the adventure. It’s a new mystery every month—who knows, you might even save the world … or at least your dignity.
