The California Museum invites members of the public to enjoy free admission and a weekend of activities at the Stand Up for Unity in Our Community event on Sat., June 22 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sun., June 23, 2019 from 12 to 5 p.m.

In recognition of the 20th anniversary of a series of Northern California hate crimes by white supremacists, the event encourages visitors to take an active stand against hate, intolerance and bigotry in the spirit of the rally that united Sacramento following the 1999 attacks. Highlights of activities include:

  • Free admission to the Unity Center at California Museum plus all current exhibits on Saturday from 10 am to 5pm & Sunday  from 12 to 5 pm
  • Diversity Film Festival featuring screenings of “Summer of Hate, Season of Healing” (2000), “An American Mosque” (2012) and more documentaries chronicling community resilience, marginalized groups, civil rights and social justice
  • Hands-on civil rights, activism and social justice activities including a #UnityActivist selfie photo booth

It's a beautiful 15-minute drive from downtown Sacramento to our favorite destination in the California Delta. The Old Sugar Mill really is a perfect place to get hitched. ❤️❤️
